Honors and Awards

OATS Educator Award

*The purpose of this award is to recognize those Certified Athletic Trainers in OATS who have demonstrated outstanding contribution to education and the professional advancement of Athletic Training as an allied medical field.

*The Educator Award will be announced at the OATS annual business meeting at the NWATA Symposium in March.

*Recipients of this award will automatically be nominated for the same award at the district level (NWATA).

DEADLINE for nomination is October 31

Guidelines:
     1. Must be Certified or Retired member of OATS.
     2. Must have made a significant contribution in the area of education in OATS
     3. This influence must have been with Certified Athletic Trainers, student athletic          trainers, community and/or schools.

Nomination:
Any member in good standing of OATS or any student engaged in an educational program within the state may submit the award nomination form. The nomination form may include description of involvement in one or more of the following areas:
     1. Creative works of writing
     2. Editing
     3. Technology
     4. Volunteer Service on committees
     5. Moderating clinical sessions
     6. Assist in planning or hosting of educational seminars
     7. Speaker at clinics or workshop
     8. Curriculum taught
     9. Research
     10. How the nominee motivates learning
